Reports reveal that a group organized a picnic within the sacred grounds, where beef was cooked and individuals posed for photographs while standing on grave sites and cremation pyres with their shoes on. The insensitive act has drawn widespread condemnation from the Hindu community and conscious citizens alike.
Local residents and community leaders expressed profound grief and anger over the disrespect shown to a place dedicated to solemn rites and final farewells. The deliberate act of cooking beef—a practice deeply offensive in a Hindu religious setting—along with disrespecting the resting places of the deceased, is being viewed as an unprovoked assault on religious sentiments and social harmony.
Civil society members and local religious leaders emphasized that such provocative behavior appears to be an intentional attempt to disturb the peaceful co-existence in the region and inflict psychological harm on the minority community.
