A Hindu family in Sunamganj was left shaken after their home was reportedly attacked and vandalised following allegations that a young member of the family had made derogatory remarks about religion.
The incident took place in Garkati village of Tahirpur upazila, where a mob allegedly gathered and attacked the family’s home and a nearby shop. A local temple was also reportedly vandalised during the unrest.
Following the allegations, police took the young man into custody and launched an investigation into the incident. Authorities also increased security in the area in an effort to prevent further tension or violence.
